A semi-automatic pistol on a polymer skeleton, produced since 1993. It works on the principle of a short recoil of the bolted barrel against the edge of the cartridge chamber in the ejection window of the shells. SA / DA trigger mechanism, external cock equipped with a safety tooth,
Self-locking metering needle, polygonal chromium-molybdenum steel barrel cold forged. The metal parts have been covered with a "Tenifer" coating that increases the strength of the mechanisms as well as corrosion resistance. The fuse located on the left side of the skeleton is also the release of the strained tap. Open sights, front sight and rear sight mounted on a dovetail.
In 1996, the pistol became the Bundeswehr's regular short weapon under the designation P8.
